Vocollision is a dynamic group from NYU dedicated to pushing the boundaries of modern acapella. Our creativity and passion for music drives us to explore new techniques, genres, styles, and songs. We dream of redefining what acapella looks like today, setting a new standard of innovation. Collegiate acapella haș not always appreciated diversity or uplifted marginalized voices, but we were founded in 2008 as a space where Asian and Asian-American singers and music were celebrated at NYU. Since then, we’ve expanded into a community that values diversity, creativity, and innovation in acapella on a wider scale and celebrates singers of all cultural backgrounds, and we’ve begun presenting those values on the international stage at the ICCAs. We are a family of talented vocalists and musicians, each of us bringing different perspectives and ideas that influence our sound. Together, we craft performances that showcase the power and versatility of the human voice (and captivate audiences and judges!).
